A 4988 is a complete microstep motor drive with built-in converters that are easy to operate.The product can operate double-pole stepper motor in full, half, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 stepper mode, and the output drive performance can reach 35 v and 2 a.A4988 includes a fixed shutdown time current regulator, which can work in slow or mixed decay mode.Converter is the key to easy implementation of a 4988.As long as a pulse is fed into the stepper input, the motor can be driven to microstep.No phase sequence table, high frequency control line or complex interface programming is required.The a4988 interface is well suited for complex microprocessors that are not available or overloaded.
At microstep operation, the chopper control in a4988 automatically selects current attenuation mode (slow or mixed).In hybrid attenuation mode, the device is initially set to rapidly decay during part of the fixed downtime and then at a slower rate during the remainder of the downtime.The hybrid damping current control scheme can reduce the noise of audible motor, increase stepping accuracy and reduce power consumption.Provide internal synchronous rectifier control circuit to improve power consumption during pulse width modulation (pwm) operation.The internal circuit protection includes: overheat shutdown with lag, underpressure lock (uvlo) and cross current protection.There is no need for special electrical sorting.
